Advanced Baking Class: Join us for a beautiful French-inspired baking class where students will create a Stunning Swirled Caramelized Apple Tarte Tatin! This elegant dessert features thinly sliced apples arranged in a delicate spiral over a buttery Puff Pastry Crust and baked to perfection with a rich caramelized finish. In this hands-on class, students will learn how to properly prepare apples, learning a new tool. They will then practice arranging the Apple ribbons into a decorative swirl pattern, creating a visually striking tart. Students will also learn how to make a smooth, flavorful Caramel that enhances the natural sweetness of the apples. The Tarte Tatin is assembled and baked until the apples are tender and lightly caramelized, and the crust is golden and crisp. Throughout the class, the focus will be on technique, precision, and presentationāresulting in a bakery-style dessert that looks as beautiful as it tastes. Skills students will learn: *Preparing and slicing apples evenly *Creating and working with caramel *Arranging fruit in a spiral design *Baking for proper texture and doneness *Building and baking a tart with a crisp crust *Presentation and finishing techniques Each student will leave with beautifully crafted swirled Caramelized Apple Tarte Tatins, perfect for sharing or showcasing as a centerpiece dessert. šāØ Class Guidelines: *Please ensure long hair is all tied back PRIOR to arriving in class. *Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear Closed-Toed shoes. *This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. *Missed classes are non-refundableāplease review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
Cancellation Policy
Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once theyāve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
