Service Description
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a warm and delicious taste of Ireland! In this hands-on cooking class, students will create two cozy, from-scratch dishes that are perfect for the season. Young chefs will learn how to prepare creamy Irish potato leek soup, a smooth and comforting classic made with tender potatoes, mild leeks, and savory broth. Students will practice important kitchen skills like safely slicing vegetables, sautéing, and building flavor in a one-pot soup. To go alongside their soup, students will bake savory Irish cheddar and chive scones — flaky, buttery, and packed with sharp cheddar cheese and fresh chives. They’ll learn how to cut butter into flour, mix dough properly, and shape bakery-style scones. This class is all about: *Knife skills & vegetable prep *Stovetop cooking techniques *Baking from scratch *Working with dough *Exploring traditional Irish-inspired foods By the end of class, students will enjoy a hearty bowl of soup with their warm, cheesy scones — a festive and comforting St. Patrick’s Day meal they can recreate at home! Please ensure long hair is all tied back PRIOR to arriving in class. Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear Closed-Toed shoes. This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. Missed classes are non-refundable—please review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
Cancellation Policy
Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once they’ve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
