Service Description
Bring the flavors of your favorite takeout restaurant into the kitchen in this fun and flavorful hands-on class! Students will learn how to recreate Panda Express’s famous Orange Chicken completely from scratch, featuring crispy golden chicken tossed in a sweet, tangy, and citrusy orange glaze packed with bold flavor. Young chefs will practice preparing and breading chicken, learning how to achieve the perfect crispy coating while understanding the basics of frying and proper oil safety. They’ll then create the signature orange sauce by balancing sweet, savory, tangy, and slightly spicy flavors using fresh orange, aromatics, and pantry staples. To complete the meal, students will also prepare perfectly fluffy steamed rice, learning the proper rice-to-water ratio and techniques for achieving light, tender grains every time. Skills Learned: • Proper chicken preparation and cutting techniques • Breading and frying for a crispy coating • Oil safety and frying fundamentals • Building a balanced sweet-and-savory orange sauce • Cooking fluffy steamed rice with proper ratios • Flavor balancing using citrus, sweetness, and aromatics • Kitchen safety, timing, and organization A delicious class packed with crispy chicken, bold citrus flavor, and better-than-takeout fun! 🍊🍚🥢 Class Guidelines: *Please ensure long hair is all tied back PRIOR to arriving in class. *Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear Closed-Toed shoes. *This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. *Missed classes are non-refundable—please review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
Cancellation Policy
Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once they’ve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
