Service Description

Where Food becomes Science—and Science becomes Edible. Step into a hands-on Culinary Science experience where students become Junior Food Scientists and discover the “Alchemy” behind real Kitchen Transformations! In this 3-day immersive Camp, students explore how everyday ingredients change through heat, chemistry, and technique. Each day highlights a different scientific principle—protein transformation, texture engineering, and sugar reactions—while building real cooking confidence, creativity, and kitchen skills. Day 1: Cheese Alchemy Lab 🧀 Students explore protein transformation as they turn milk into fresh Mozzarella. They’ll stretch, shape, and taste their own handmade cheese while watching liquid become solid through heat and acid reactions. Then we'll create our own Caprese appetizers to enjoy! Day 2: Mirror Glaze & Texture Lab 🍰 Students become Edible Artists as they explore viscosity, shine, and structure. They’ll decorate mini cakes using glossy mirror glaze and chocolate ganache drips while learning how temperature and ingredients change texture and flow. Day 3: Sugar Reaction Lab 🍭 A high-energy Science day focused on Sugar Chemistry! Students create Tanghulu and Honeycomb Candy while observing bubbling reactions, crystallization, and dramatic texture changes right in front of them. Camp Highlights: Hands-on culinary science experiments every day Real edible transformations (not just mixing or baking) Take-home creations daily Class Guidelines: *Please ensure long hair is all tied back PRIOR to arriving in class. *Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear Closed-Toed shoes. *This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. *Missed classes are non-refundable—please review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
