Service Description

From the celebrated European patisserie Petit Gateaux, comes the Recipe Book with One Basic Tart recipe and Sixty variations. Once the ‘Base’ recipe is perfected, you can experiment and make any tart you want! Discovering the joy of homemade patisserie has never been easier. French patisserie Petit Gateau equips even the most rudimentary of Bakers with the skills to create Beautiful Tarts of an endless variety of Color and Flavor, all with just One Core Recipe. Class Tuition includes the Supplies per student. * Cookbook ($25) * Tart Rings & Cutters ($35) * Rolling Pin w/ Thickness Rings ($15) * Pastry Cutter ($10) Chapters include: Dough – How do you make the perfect dough for little tarts? Examples – Exploring the best fillings for your tarts and the ways you can create unlimited variations. Almond Cream and Clafoutis Cream – How to create that perfect creamy layer… Crumble – Crunchy toppings for the perfect textured tart. Pastry Cream – A velvety texture with a rich vanilla flavour Fruit – From apples and pears to pineapple and rhubarb, how do you make your fruit to the perfect texture and sweetness for patisserie? Chocolate – Good chocolate is essential to a great tart and this book includes fifteen different types of ganache, as well as other chocolate-y fillings and toppings for you to get your chocolate fix. Party Time – Easter, Hallowe'en and Christmas are not the same without a special tart to mark the occasion. Students will work to perfect the Base Dough, then the following classes we will work on the Exquisite fillings and even challenge our creativity to create our own combinations! Students will be standing for most of the class. Please wear closed-toe shoes and have long hair pulled back. This is a drop-off program to allow the children independence in the kitchen. No rebates for missed classes. After the class, every participant will leave with the recipes they learned, prepared to recreate them at home and delight their loved ones with their newfound baking skills.


Cancellation Policy

Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once they’ve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
