In French, Galette simply means a flat, free-form pastry—making this dessert as approachable as it is elegant. What Students Will Learn: *How to make a flaky, tender pie dough from scratch *Proper techniques for mixing, rolling, and handling dough *How to prepare a balanced blueberry filling with the right consistency and flavor *How to assemble and shape free-form galettes with a professional look *Techniques for folding, sealing, and finishing edges *Tips for preventing soggy crusts and ensuring even baking *How to achieve a golden, bakery-style finish with simple egg wash and baking methods Ingredients & Flavor Profile: Students will work with fresh blueberries enhanced with a touch of Lemon and a hint of fresh Thyme for a subtle, herbaceous note that complements the natural sweetness of the fruit. The combination creates a bright, seasonal flavor with a refined twist. This class is ideal for building confidence with pastry while embracing a relaxed, rustic baking style! Class Guidelines: *Please ensure long hair is all tied back PRIOR to arriving in class. *Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear Closed-Toed shoes. *This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. *Missed classes are non-refundable—please review our Cancellation Policy. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
