Service Description
In this cozy and creative baking class, students will learn how to make a stunning Upside-Down Plum Cakeāa show-stopping Dessert thatās as beautiful as it is delicious! Juicy, vibrant Plums are arranged in a caramel-like glaze, then topped with a tender vanilla cake batter and baked to golden perfection. When flipped, the fruit becomes a glossy, jewel-toned topping that looks like it came from a bakery window. Along the way, students will learn techniques like caramelizing fruit, creaming butter and sugar, and how to invert a cake with confidence. This late-Summer bake is perfect for brunch, dessert, or gifting. Please ensure long hair is tied back Prior to arriving in class. Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear closed-toe shoes. This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. Missed classes are non-refundableāplease review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
Cancellation Policy
Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once theyāve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
