Service Description
Step into the world of Classic Comfort Cooking as students learn how to prepare an Elegant Roasted Cornish Hen dinner complete with flavorful Roasted Root Vegetables. Students will learn how to properly prepare and season individual Cornish Hens, creating a golden, crispy skin while keeping the meat tender and juicy. They will explore how herbs, aromatics, and simple seasoning techniques can transform everyday ingredients into a restaurant-worthy dish. Alongside the Hens, students will prepare a colorful medley of seasonal root vegetables, learning how to balance flavors and achieve the perfect caramelized roasted finish. Together, these dishes create a cozy farmhouse-style meal that celebrates wholesome ingredients and classic cooking techniques. ✨ Skills Students Will Learn: • Safe handling and preparation of poultry • Proper seasoning techniques to maximize flavor • How to create crispy, golden roasted skin • Using fresh herbs and aromatics to enhance a dish • Knife skills for preparing root vegetables • Roasting techniques for perfectly caramelized vegetables • Plating and presentation for an impressive meal Students will leave with the confidence and skills to recreate this beautiful, comforting dinner at home — a true celebration of cooking from scratch! Class Guidelines: *Please ensure long hair is all tied back PRIOR to arriving in class. *Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear Closed-Toed shoes. *This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. *Missed classes are non-refundable—please review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
Cancellation Policy
Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once they’ve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
