Learn the Essentials of Cooking in this hands-on, Beginner-Friendly Class Series! Over four weeks, you’ll build foundational skills, explore basic techniques, and create delicious meals to enjoy and recreate at home. Week 1: Kitchen Fundamentals ~ Knife skills: Chopping, dicing, and slicing. Kitchen safety and tools overview. Dish: Fresh Veggie Stir-Fry with Rice. Week 2: Soups, Salads, and Sauces ~ Making flavorful soups and dressings. Basics of balancing flavors. Dishes: Chicken Noodle Soup and a mixed Green Salad with homemade Vinaigrette. Week 3: Roasting & Baking ~ Roasting proteins. Baking basics: Quick breads. Dishes: Herb-roasted Cornish Hen and Cornbread. Week 4: Simple Weeknight Meals ~ One-pot and sheet-pan techniques. Time-saving tips for busy evenings. Dishes: Sheet-pan Chicken with Roasted Potatoes and Broccoli. What’s Included All ingredients, tools, and recipes. A fun, supportive environment to build confidence in the kitchen. Start your cooking journey and bring home skills to share with family and friends! Participants will be standing for most of the class, so please wear closed-toe shoes and ensure long hair is tied back. Missed classes are non-refundable—please review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
Cancellation Policy
Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once they’ve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
