Service Description
Take a flavorful trip to the Philippines in this hands-on street food inspired class! Students will learn how to prepare baked Lumpia, a lighter twist on the classic Filipino Spring Roll. Young chefs will mix a savory filling of seasoned vegetables and protein, then carefully roll and seal each Lumpia wrapper before baking them to a crispy golden finish. Alongside the Lumpia, students will create a refreshing Mango Cucumber Salad, learning how to balance sweet, tangy, and slightly savory flavors. This vibrant side dish brings a fresh contrast to the crispy rolls and introduces students to simple flavor layering using fruit, herbs, and citrus. Skills Learned: • Proper vegetable and protein prep • Seasoning and mixing lumpia filling • Rolling and sealing lumpia wrappers • Baking techniques for a crispy finish • Knife skills for fresh fruit and vegetables • Balancing sweet, tangy, and savory flavors • Creating simple dressings and marinades • Kitchen safety, timing, and organization A bright, flavorful class filled with crispy rolls and refreshing tropical flavors—straight from the Filipino street food scene! đźĄđźĄ’đźĄ˘ Class Guidelines: *Please ensure long hair is all tied back PRIOR to arriving in class. *Participants will be standing for most of the class, please wear Closed-Toed shoes. *This is a drop-off program designed to foster independence in the kitchen. *Missed classes are non-refundable—please review our Cancellation Policy. In each class, students work together in teams of two, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. As part of the experience, they'll make and enjoy some of the food they created during class. They'll also have the chance to take a portion of their creation home to share including the recipes, as the focus is on learning and practicing Culinary techniques.
Cancellation Policy
Due to our need to purchase food and supplies in advance, we are unable to provide refunds once a class is booked. You may receive a credit toward another class if notified a week prior to the date of your registered class. You are welcome to send someone in your place to attend the class that you've purchased. The Art of Food reserves the right to cancel a class. Registrants will be notified by email or phone as far in advance as possible and will issue a credit for upcoming classes. Please review class information carefully. We cannot be responsible for allergies, food or other sensitivities that may be unique to an individuals medical condition. Please note our kitchen is not a gluten-free environment and may contain nut products and other potential allergens. Sick Student Policy: Students should stay home if they or any family members are experiencing symptoms of illness, only returning to class once they’ve been well and symptom-free for at least 24 hours. This precaution supports a healthy environment for all students and staff.
